Road Trip Wednesday and A-Z How Many Have You Read/Heard Contest (Letter K)

For anyone visiting from A-Z, my K post follows. But first, YA Highway does a weekly blog carnival where we each blog on the same topic. This week's Road Trip Topic:

What is the story of your best scar?

This is a short and sweet one.

I skinned my knee while running around my grandparents' house with my cousins after my grandma's funeral. I was ten at the time. It left a scar of lighter and slightly crinkled skin the size of a half dollar. The scar lasted well into my twenties and always reminded me of my grandma...a scar on the outside to remind me of the imprint she'd left on my heart.

Now, for A-Z.  The Challenge is over 1000 strong (amazing, huh?). Hosted by:  Arlee Bird, Alex J Cavanaugh, Jen Daiker and Talli Rolland.
For those who maybe haven't stopped by before, I'm doing a How Many Have You Read/Heard Contest. Each day will feature YA audiobooks I've listened to that have titles starting with that day's letter.

To enter, comment on which books you've read. Most will count as one entry. Older/more obscure books will count as two.

At the end of the month I'll draw names for several prizes including cool bookmarks, books, ARCs and a $10 Barnes and Noble gift certificate.

BTW, "Q" day will have a separate query crit giveaway.
"A" and "The" don't count in the title, and I'm not using multiple titles in a series or author names unless I'm desperate.

Now, for

The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1) Dytopian, Old West, new planet pioneering style. But watch your step, that last page is a doosey of a cliffhanger. (worth two entries)

Keturah and Lord Death KETURAH AND LORD DEATH-The best under-read YA ever. I'll give three entries to anyone who has. (worth three entries).

Keeping the Moon According to Goodreads, this used to be called LAST CHANCE and CRAZY MOON. I'm so glad they changed it because I needed more "K" than "C" or "L" titles :) Oh, and it does still count here even if you read it under one of the different titles. (worth one entry)

King Dork Great boy YA. I'm so glad this celebrity author (he's a singer/songwriter for a punk band) wrote this book...I just had to write that sentence since (as a jealous would-be author) it might be the only time it will ever be true :) (worth two entries)

That's it for K. To enter, comment on which books you've read. If you read a YA "K" one I missed, mention it. If I've read/listened to it you'll get two entries.

And feel free to add a comment later in the month if you read/listen to something because I mentioned it here.

  1. I read Keeping the Moon. I keep meaning to read King Dork but I haven't gotten to it. The Knife of Never Letting Go sounds good.

  2. What a sweet story!

Oh, and I've been dying to read KETURAH AND LORD DEATH. I've heard it's wonderful. When I order a bunch of books that one never makes the cut because it's more expensive than the rest. (I know, lame reason.)

  4. I've read KEEPING THE MOON and THE KNIFE OF NEVER LETTING GO (all books in that series were doozies when it came to endings...even the last one. ARGH!)

Also, I just picked up Gingerbread (audiobook) and it's pretty good...makes me snicker when i least expect it :)

  7. I've only read two of your K books. Keeping the Moon and King Dork. They are two of my faves. I've also heard good things about The Knife of Never Letting Go, I'll have to get on that one.

  8. That was a great scar story. :)

Um, I'm seriously failing in this book challenge thing. I haven't read a single book that begins with K.
