I'm sorry folks, but I'm going to be out of town today and tomorrow and I ran out of time to do my posts for my How Many Have You Read/Heard Contest.

A-Z How Many Have You Read/Heard Contest (Letter R)

For those who maybe haven't stopped by before, I'm doing a How Many Have You Read/Heard Contest. Each day will feature YA audiobooks I've listened to that have titles starting with that day's letter.

To enter, comment on which books you've read. Most will count as one entry. Older/more obscure books will count as two.

At the end of the month I'll draw names for several prizes including cool bookmarks, books, ARCs and a $10 Barnes and Noble gift certificate.

BTW, "Q" day will have a separate query crit giveaway.

"A" and "The" don't count in the title, and I'm not using multiple titles in a series or author names unless I'm desperate.

Compare your first kiss with your favorite characters first kiss?

Although Alice (from THE OPPOSITE OF INVISIBLE) may not be my favorite character, I did relate to her first kisses recently. Like her, I was totally inexperienced until high school and got a crash course in kissing, with more than one guy.

Unlike Alice, my first kiss wasn't a long time crush. He did have more experience than me and was oblivious (I hope) to my lack thereof. He jumped straight to "making out" without any niceties, so my experience was more overwhelming than Alice's poignant one.

I guess some things are better in fiction.

What about you? Any first kisses better than fiction?

I read this Laurie Halse Anderson before I knew who Laurie Halse Anderson was (i.e. before I read SPEAK). In fact, I didn't know she'd written this until I looked it up for the post. (worth two entries)

One of my favorite new books from last year. This protag kicks taser butt. (worth one entry)

Another great YA Historical. (worth two entries)

Another classic YA must-read. (worth two entries)

Hands down, my favorite Shannon Hale. (worth one entry)

Is this one a classic yet? I suppose so. Yay for YA Chick Lit! (worth one entry)

Probably the best under-read Meg Cabot, and definitely my favorite protag of hers (Mediator being a close second). (worth two entries)

A great sisters book for those who like that kind of thing. (worth two entries)

Refreshing boy fiction about a rich kid who has to rethink his life after his dad gets arrested. (worth two entries)

Similar premise to A FALSE PRINCESS but with a few different twists. (worth two entries)

Thanks to a shortage of  "O" titles, I finally read this YA classic...can't believe I waited this long. (worth 2 entries)

A pastor's daughter has to deal with her mom's alcohol issues and her dad's possible infidelity. (worth two entries)

Didn't realize back on "J" that American versions of this book are just called JELLICOE ROAD, so I'm using the Australian title here. Either way it's a wonderful book. (worth one entry)

THE OPPOSITE OF INVISIBLE- Found and read this one specifically for this post. About a girl who wants to break out of her cocoon even if that means losing the one who made her feel safe there. (worth two entries)
