Debut Author Challenge #10

It looks like I'm going to finish the challenge this year. Thanks to Audible. After all my years of "free-loading" from the library (Though I do pay taxes...and more than my share of late fees), I guess it's high time I invest seriously in the thing I can't live without...audiobooks.

And, as a (hopefully) debut author myself someday, what better authors to invest in than debut ones :)

If anyone is interested, Here's the link for the 2012 Debut Author Challenge.

STARCROSSED- by Josephine Angelini

The Starcrossed Lovers in this book have all sorts of barriers between them...starting with the fact that they want to kill each other...literally.

Intrigued? So was I. This contemporary-set book has furys and demigods and even Helen of Troy.

More serious and romantic than the Percy Jackson series (by Rick Riordon), this book has demigods who fight each other, the gods, and even fate to save the world.

What about you? Read this one? Any other debuts to recommend?

  1. I've heard such great things about this book, so I should probably add it to my TBR list, huh?

as for recs: ASHFALL by Mike Mullin was pretty decent. about a boy trying to make it back to his family after a volcanic erruption separtes them.

also,FETCHING by Kiera Stewart (fun MG that made me snicker), ALSO KNOWN AS ROWAN POHI by Ralph Fletcher (who happens to be a crit partner of Chris Crutcher), FLYAWAY by helen landalf, and DITCHED by Robin Mellom (although im not sure it comes out this year or first thing next year)

  2. I haven't read Starcrossed but always thought it sounded really good! I've enjoyed a lot of the books I've read. Too many to name. Looking forward to 2012!

  3. I haven't read it either but it sounds good. Another to add to the TBR...

  4. Oooh, that looks like so much fun! I love Greek mythology.
