This Week's YA Highway Road Trip Topic:
The house is on fire and you've only got time to grab five things. What are they?
I'm a sentimental sap, so...assuming all of us were safe, including our pets...a fire would still devastate me because of all the sentimental things I'd miss. So, I'll try to keep it to five.
1. Flashdrive- I have one attached to my keychain that has all my books on it plus backups of my most important family pictures and videos.
2. My wedding dress. My aunt made it for me, and we designed it together...really, like I said I wanted this neckline, this sleeve, the works...It's gorgeous and includes material from my grandma's dress, so it's a definite must grab.
3. Wedding album and baby books. I'm lumping them all together...sort of cheating, but I do have them in one tote in the entryway closet, ready to grab.
4. The blueprints my dad drew of the house I grew up in. Him and my uncle built it together.
5. The porcelain teapot that belonged to my great-grandma on my mom's side.
What about you? What would you grab?
You have your albums in a ready-to-grab tote? My goal in life is to be like you...
ReplyDeleteAwww I like your list, especially the wedding dress.
ReplyDeleteI didn't even think of my wedding dress, but fortunately it is safe inside my parents' house.
ReplyDeleteI'd save those things too! My wedding dress is at my mother's house so I'm using that as my excuse as to why it's not on my list. :)
ReplyDeleteLook at you, all prepared with a tote at the ready! Smart idea. I totally forgot about my wedding dress, but it's at my parent's so it's safe.
ReplyDeleteWow, you've got a lot of lovely sentimental items :) I thought about doing this RTW, but other than my cat and a family collection of recipes, everything else I own is utterly replaceable...
ReplyDeleteBlueprints are so cool. Your wedding dress sounds wonderful, so I'm glad it's getting saved in this scenario.
ReplyDeleteI think I have to put my albums in a tote now.
ReplyDeleteYou know we want to see a pic of the dress now, right? lol
ReplyDeleteI would grab my hard drive, my dog, my box of pictures that I never got around to organizing, my hubby's degree and my purse.
It's scary to think about tho, isn't it? I can't imagine the devastation of fire and losing one's home.
