Road Trip Wednesday- Where do you see yourself...

This week's YA Highway Road Trip topic: What do you hope to be writing in one year? Three? Five?

One year?

I hope to be writing more stories for my Cheater Beaters series. And finding time for my sci-fi WIP...the book I've been struggling with periodically for years and still don't have a total grip on.

Three Years?

Still more of my Cheater Beaters series? Could be, but I'll also hope to be done with my sci-fi and struggling with some new project that I'm obsessed with but feels beyond me.

Five years?

A YA historical. I love, love, love historical, but the dialogue especially feels so far beyond me as a writer right now. Maybe in five years I'll feel ready to dedicate the time I'll need to do it up right.

What about you? Where do you see yourself as a writer in the future?

  1. In one year I hope to be done all the revising for my first two books and have a draft of my third book. Not sure about the other two, I'm bad at long term planning.

  2. Great goals, Jennifer! I love YA historical too and have a good idea for one that I'd love to drop everything and get writing. I'm working on a sci-fi story right now, though, so that's taking up my creative energy. :)

  3. I can't wait to read CHEATER BEATERS! Good luck with your sci fi; I have an old YA WIP that I'd love to have made presentable in the next 3 years. But considering my struggles with it, that's pretty optimistic. :)

  4. Ahh this sounds great! My current WIP is semi-sci fi as well! And historical fiction is great, it's in my 5 year writing plan as well. Cheater beaters sounds awesome! Would love to hear more about it!

  5. Sounds like you've got your future neatly mapped out - well done. That's no easy task!

  6. So cool! I think you'd do great with a YA historical. But you're right, get Earthbound done and ready! :) And yay for Cheater Beaters!
