Road Trip Wednesday

This Week's YA Highway Road Trip Topic:
What's the best book you've read in August?

August was a slower but good listening month for me. On Friday, I'll list all my "reads" for my How Many Have You Read ARC Giveaway, but today I'm picking just one as my favorite:

Magic amulets, power-hungry magicians, royal lineages and a reluctant hero. High Fantasy is alive and well...for me, at least, and I can't wait to read the next one in this series.

It was a little confusing in the beginning, to get all the characters and settings straight...maybe more so since I was listening, not reading. But once I was into it, I was completely sold.

I also have an extra ARC of the third book to give away in Friday's contest, so check back if you are into this series too.

What about you? Have you read this one yet? What was your favorite book in August?

  3. I like fantasy every now and then. this one sounds interesting. i might have to put it on my list.

For me, the best (YA) book this month, was BLOOD RED ROAD by Moira Young. Killer dystopian. Highly addicting read :)

  4. Hmm... I'm not well-versed in high fantasy, but this one looks like it could be a good jumping off book for me. Thanks for the recommendation!

  7. I haven't read any of that series, but it's on my TBR list. I keep skipping it for some reason, but since you mention it again I'll have to remember it next time I need a book.

  8. That sounds really interesting. :) I like fantasy novels so I might need to check that out. Plus, I'm certain my brother would want to read it.

My choice for this month was The Sky Is Everywhere.

  10. I don't know why, but this series never really interested me. everyone's raving about it though, so I might have to add it to the TBR pile. :)

  11. I've been stumbling onto some high fantasy that I really like, but I find that I don't go deliberately looking for it as much as I used to. I'll check out this series, though.
